Bright, indirect light. If your plant gets leggy (or floppy-like), it may not be getting enough light.

Prefers ample humidity.  Do not expose to drafts and/or heat vents.

Schefflera's are indeed TOXIC to humans and pets.

Water

Water weekly, and mist leaves frequently.  Can wait until soil drys out, and then soak soil.  Cut back on waterings in the wintertime.

Fertilize twice per week during growing season (spring & summer) with a general houseplant food.

60 to 85 degrees is the preferred temperature.
