Calathea + Maranta Care

Light

Each Calathea/Maranta is different, but each will be happy in medium light.  Some, like Dottie/Peacock/Orborifolia/

Rattlesnake/Maranta, prefer medium to low light, while Beauty Star/Freddie/Medallian prefer bright to medium light.​

The Pinstripe Calathea prefers bright light.

Humidity

Prefers ample humidity.  If a leaf edge turns brown, spritz with lukewarm water regularly.

Toxicity

Calatheas & Marantas are non-toxic to humans and pets.

Maintain a watering schedule & keep your calathea/maranta moist, but not soggy.

Fertilizer

Use a houseplant fertilizer every 4 weeks in the spring & summertime.

65 to 85 degrees is the preferred temperature.
